Works have been arranged chronologically to help
understand the history of painting from
antiquity to the 20th century.
Antiquity
: Approximately 130 works including Greek vases, mosaics, and Roman murals.
The
Middle Ages : Approximately 100 works including murals and icons of Christendom.
Renaissance
: Approximately 140 works including Botticelli, Leonardo da Vinci, and Raffaello.
Baroque
: Approximately 120 works including Rembrandt, Velazquez, and Goya.
From Rococo to Fin de Siecle : Approximately 330 works including Turner,
Millet, Renoir, Van Gogh, Cezanne, Gauguin, and Munch.
20th
Century : Approximately 100 works including Picasso, Miro, and Dali. |

This collection assembles paintings that span long history
and deals with such commom themes as "Life and Death" or "Family Portraits."
The works here illustrate in an easily comprehensible way the evolution of, for
example,
"Space Representation," and differing viewpoints on "Life and Death."
The key themes, each represented by 15-17 works, are rounded out by "Time," "Pleasure
at Table," "Femme Fatale," "Trompe-L'oeil" and "Self-Portraits by Rembrandt."
